Two people are dead and several others were injured after a car crash on Sunday afternoon in Marion, Iowa.
The crash took place at 5:17 p.m. on Highway 70 near when a 2005 Ford was traveling East on the highway and it crossed the center line before hitting a 2018 Chevrolet SUV.
The driver of the Ford, a 53-year-old identified as John Russell, of Marion, and a 10-year-old juvenile who was a backseat passenger in the Chevrolet were both pronounced dead at the scene.
Five others were hospitalized.
The crash is being investigated by Marion Police Department.
