Ford will introduce its Ranger compact pickup and a restored Bronco SUV in the U.S., as per chairman of UAW Local 900’s bargaining unit for Ford’s plant located in Wayne, Michigan, where the two automobiles would be produced.
Bill Johnson confirmed the strategies in reaction to criticism of Ford by GOP candidate Donald Trump, who has blasted the car manufacturer for preparing to move C-Max and Focus production to Mexico.
“We hate to see the products go to Mexico, but with the Ranger and the Bronco coming to Michigan Assembly, that definitely protects the future for our people a lot more than the Focus does,” Johnson informed the Detroit Free Press.
Throughout UAW agreement settlements last year, Ford unveiled that a “brand-new product” will be produced at the Michigan Assembly plant located in Wayne in 2018. It’s anticipated to be the Ranger, which will take on the Chevrolet Colorado and GMC Canyon. Ford assured another model by 2020 and Johnson’s remarks recommend it will be a Bronco.
