Four people were killed and three were injured in an early-morning crash on Interstate 95 involving multiple vehicles on Wednesday.
Troopers attended the scene just before 2 a.m. near Chamberlayne Road at mile marker 82 in Henrico County, Virginia.
It all started when a Chevrolet Impala moving north on I-95 ran off the road to the left and through the median before striking a Tesla in the southbound lanes, according to Virginia State Police.
The chain-reaction crash caused Tesla to struck a Ford Van parked in the right lane as part of a highway work zone.
There wasn’t anyone in the van at the time of the crash, according to troopers.
The Impala landed upside down in the southbound lanes.
All five people inside were taken out from the car. Four have died and one was taken to VCU Medical Center with serious injuries.
The driver and passenger inside of the Tesla were taken to a local hospital for treatment of injuries that were serious.
