Acura NSX Roadster in the works, could be launched two years after the coupe – report

by SpeedLux

Acura NSX has recently revealed that the company has begun working on a convertible variant.

Speaking to one of the car magazines, Acura NSX designer Jun Goto said that they are looking at the convertible, but they still had a long way to go with it. He said that the discussions were at an early stage and so the company has not decided yet if the model will be offered with a hard or soft top. Regardless of what the final outcome would be, the report says that the NSX Roadster is slated to be launched at least two years after the coupe arrives in the year 2015 which means we will not be able to see this roadster before 2017 atleast.

Just to remind, Acura had created an NSX Roadster for the movie “The Avengers” and at that time the company said that the model was a one-off that was created specifically for the movie. In related news, Goto revealed that the NSX coupe will share around 95 percent of the concept’s exterior styling but talking of interiors, it will be less conservative than the concept.
