Lamborghini builds their final Gallardo, a LP 570-4 Spyder Performante

by SpeedLux

The sun has finally set on the Lamborghini Gallardo as the last model has rolled off the assembly line recently in the plant of Italy. The last car which is a Rosso Mars Gallardo LP 570-4 Spyder Performante had received a pretty tender farewell and very soon it would be in the hands of a private collector.

Over the course of ten years, Lamborghini built as many as 14,022 Gallardos which also makes it the company’s most successful model to date. This can be further confirmed from the fact that the company averaged 250 annual sales before the Gallardo was introduced but that number has now increased to around 2,000 annually, as informed by the company. Not only that, the Gallardo clearly represents nearly half of all Lamborghinis built since the company was founded way back in 1963.

The company didn’t have much to say about the Gallardo’s successor but there are reports that indicate that it may be called the Cabrera. There is no idea as to when the model will be introduced and but could come equipped with a naturally-aspirated 5.2-liter V10 engine that would generate an output of approximately 600 hp (447 kW).
