It will always be special when both Mercedes Benz and Brabus has something to unveil for us. While Mercedes-Benz made an announcement about its SLS AMG program, the tuning company that specialize on Mercedes cars disclosed the iBusiness, which is a four-seat sedan. The Mercedes-Benz S600 is used as a basis for working out the form of the design of the new luxury four-seat sedan called iBusiness.
Brabus was founded in 1977 in Bottrop (Ruhr Area), Germany. The founders of the company – Klaus Brackmann and Bodo Buschmann have been quite successful in making Brabus known to the world as a high performance aftermarket tuning company. Brabus primarily specializes in Mercedes-Benz, Smart, and Maybach vehicles. Brabus, since its inception, has become the largest Mercedes tuner.
The iBusiness from Brabus, as you would have been anticipating, is more than mere performance. Brabus is a synonym for and the foremost company in highly innovative multimedia technology. The iBusiness is a feature rich state-of-the-art entertainment and communication technology masterpiece. The centerpiece of this car’s beautifully styled interior is a revolutionary small Mac minicomputer. This ultra small Mac computer is securely installed under the rear shelf. The Mac system features a 15.2-inch TFT screen, which has an aspect ratio of 16:9. The Mac computer connects to the world over internet using UMTS and HSPDA technologies. UMTS is abbreviated for “Universal Mobile Telecommunications System”, which is a third-generation (3G) mobile telecommunications technology, whereas the HSDPA is abbreviated for “High-Speed Downlink Packet Access” which is an intensified 3G (third generation) mobile telephony communications protocol that helps lightening fast communication.
Two iPads control this multimedia Mac based system. The system in turn can also be used to control the super luxury car’s standard command system with all the functions. The iPads can also be used to control other features of the car including the radio, the navigation systems along with the telephone. These two iPads have the same leather covering as interior of the super luxury car. High-gloss aluminum frames border these two iPads. Once you have parked your “iBusiness” or not intending to use these tow iPad, you may simply store them securely, while at the same time hiding them from sight, inside a custom-tailored compartment available in the Brabus center console. The super luxury sedan’s stunning music is delivered via an iPod with a 64 GB storage capacity. The number of songs that can be stored on this iPod for enjoying a randomized or sequential playback is a whooping 14,000. That surely is quite something. The sound output devices i.e. the speakers include the Sennheiser Noise Gard headphones and the sound system of the S-Class.
The new Brabus “iBusiness” makes use of the special crankshaft with longer stroke in conjunction, forged pistons of larger diameter, and an enhanced cylinder bore bump displacement to deliver huge power to the luxury sedan. The cylinder bore bump has a displacement of 6.3 liters from the standard 5.5 liters. It is equivalent to 385 cu. in. up from the standard 336 cu. in. The iBusiness power plant consists of a 6.3-liter V12 engine. The engine is powerful enough to run at 5,500 rpm of speed to produce 750 hp, which equates to 740 bhp or 552 kW in power. The engine produces enough torque, at a speed of 2,100 rpm, amounting to 1,350 Nm i.e. over 995 lb-ft. However, the car’s torque output is electronically controlled, preventing it from exceeding beyond 1,100 Nm i.e. 811 lb-ft. At this controlled levels the luxury sedan can sprint from 0 mph to 62 mph, which equate to over 100 km/h, in a scrimpy 4 seconds window. The new iBusiness can hit the rocketing speed of 200 km/h i.e. 124 mph in just 11.9 seconds. The maximum speed of this high tech multimedia equipped luxury car is controlled electronically at 340 km/h i.e. 211 mph. A modified five-speed automatic transmission is mated the powerful engine to deliver this exorbitant power. The Brabus “iBusiness” can have any variants of engine from the S 350 to the S 65. The high tech multimedia equipped luxury sports sedan is built to order.
