DTM to USA!

by Adrian Hayden

It’s now official! DTM (German touring cars) is coming to USA. In 2013 a championship made of 12 races will be inaugurated in the USA. Official information about where it will be held are not yet known. Also the connection with Grand-Am or NASCAR is also unknown. It is rumored that the DTM races will run on almost the same tracks that accommodate Grand-Am and NASCAR.

Though the strong teams like Mercedes, Audi or BMW will not cross the ocean for every of the 12 races, they will most probably establish satellite teams in the USA., using the same models they use in Europe.

It is also rumored that the cars will race under new rules that will allow them to be more controllable.

Nonetheless, the question remains: does USA need another racing league?
