The new McLaren MP4-12C. Ferrari is not worried

The Ferrari 458 Italia seemed to have a direct competition from the newly launched, McLaren MP4-12C at the time of its launch.

However, the new mid-engine supercar is not seriously taken as a potential competitor to 458 Italia by Ferrari. McLaren MP4-12C is expected to be available in the showrooms for sale to the customers sometime in 2011. Ferrari’s boss Luca Di Montezemolo has reportedly said “I’ve got a lot of respect for McLaren if they want to do a road car”.

He further added “but I like competition and I like to win.” Thus though he does not seem to be acknowledging it explicitly he recognizes McLaren MP4-12C still a competitor.
