Infiniti, in an effort to improve its reputations in the U.K. – is planning to launch a new sports car at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show which is expected to give tough competition to the likes of Audi TT or the BMW Z4. The company is collaborating with Lotus hoping to get an enthusiast appeal. According to an Auto Express report this two-seater car will be indexed under the next-generation G-Series Coupé.
The car is likely to get the conventional front engine, rear wheel drive layout while the Norfolk based car maker Lotus will chip in by tuning up the chassis. This new sports car will be a whole lot aggressive in appearance. On the top of it, Infiniti is also developing two eco-friendly models.
The first one will be a premium four-seater that will be based on the electric Nissan Leaf and will be launched in 2013. The second car is due in 2015 and will also be a hybrid one, built to compete with the Lexus CT 200h and Audi A3. Meanwhile, Infiniti will launch hybrid power to the M35h that’s included in its executive saloon range by coming September.
