Infiniti & Red Bull presents the development of an F1 car

Two of the finest racing teams, Infiniti and Red Bull have joined hands up to create a four-part series that explores the development of a successful F1 car.

Talking about the first clip, it delves into the design and development of an F1 car which normally takes a time span of around five months to be completed. However, as we know that the rule changes are extensive for 2014 and so the Infiniti Red Bull Racing team has started a little earlier this year.

As per the arrangement, once the initial design is conceived, a 60 percent scale model would be built and would be subjected to extensive wind tunnel testing. Do not be surprised to know that already thousands of parts are tested in the wind tunnel on a weekly basis.

Even after the car is built, it is subjected to atleast 30,000 design changes over the course of a season. Just to give you some stats, on the RB9 alone, 300 designers, machinists and aerodynamicists worked to perfect the car and its performance and we know what the outcome was.

Well let’s hope for the best and that we get to see something exciting pretty soon, at least get to know details quickly.
