At the 2014 auto show event currently taking place in Paris, France, a South Korean automaker, KIA, has decided to bring not one but two new models. Well, these are not entirely new models but rather facelift to existing models. KIA has officially announced the arrival of the Rio and Vega facelifts at the 2014 Paris Motor Show so for those interested in either of these models, they may as well pay a visit to the auto show in Paris, France.
As for the Rio facelift, KIA is trying to attract customers with new design for both the front and the rear bumpers. In addition to the new bumper design, the car now also comes with new fog lamps and new ways of how KIA thinks its signature ‘tiger nose’ grille should actually look from now onwards. Customers interested in the KIA Rio facelift will have the privilege to choose among three alloy wheel designs, all of which are new, two fresh paints for the body and chrome surrounds that are meant to surround the air vents of the car. Yet, as for the interior, a 7” audio visual navigation system and DAB digital radio are now standard.
The KIA Rio facelift can offer a maximum power output of 109 hp, thanks to its four motors. The engine can be paired with either a 4-speed automatic transmission or a manual 5- or 6-speed transmission.
Now, as for the KIA Venga facelift, this is a small MPV suitable for carrying the entire family on a trip. Compared to its predecessor, the model also sports a new front grille design, newly designed LED daytime running lights, a chrome trim that spans horizontally across the rear end of the car and either 16- or 17-inch alloy wheels. On the inside, there are two new trims for the seats, new audio-video system like the one on the KIA Rio facelift, new center console, a dark metal trim and also a steering wheel with heater (optional).
The KIA Venga facelift comes with either 1.4L petrol engine or a 1.6L diesel engine. The power ranges from 77 to 128 hp. Just like the Rio facelift, the Venga facelift also comes with either a 4-speed automatic transmission or a 6-speed manual transmission.
Both the KIA Rio and KIA Venga facelift come with idle stop and go (ISG) technology that helps save fuel consumption in city traffic.
