Next-gen Renault Twingo confirmed for Geneva Motor Show debut in March

by SpeedLux

Renault has recently confirmed its plans to show the all-new Twingo in the 84th edition of the Geneva Motor Show that will be held in March.

The rear-wheel drive Twingo will share its platform with the next-gen Smart ForTwo and will most likely run on economical 3-cylinder engines. It has been already previewed by the Twin-Z and Twin’Run concepts and as per the earlier spy photos it can be seen that it will be sold exclusively as a five-door hatchback.

Also from spy pics we could make out that the rear door handles will be recessed upright near the rear windows which will provide a cleaner look but it may not be liked and appreciated by everyone since it can be a bit inconvenient in some situations to open the doors. However Renault will also provide a wide array of customization options for the new Twingo in a similar way as Fiat is doing with the 500 and Opel with the Adam.

The third generation of the Renault Twingo will be unveiled on March 4 during the first press day of the 2014 Geneva Motor Show.
