Nissan will introduce Infiniti in Japan

Japanese automaker Nissan has announced its plans to introduce Infiniti at his home in Japan as a move to meet an increasing demand for premium cars.

Japanese business daily Nikkei reports Nissan has taken this decision to provide a good competition to the German automakers who are already selling some premium models in Japan. The report states that the introduction will take place in the winter this year with the launch of the Skyline (rebadged Q50) which will be manufactured at a factory in Tochigi Prefecture.

The company has not given any details about the pricing tag and sales target for the model, but we do know it will be sold at the existing Nissan dealerships as the company has not made any plans at this moment to open Infiniti showrooms in Japan.

Well very clearly Nissan is trying to increase its presence and margins as well which can be judged from the fact that with this move the company hopes to increase Infiniti’s operating profit margin to as much as seven percent in the business year ending in March 2014, compared to less than just one percent margin it has earned in the last two years.
