Three dead after wrong-way car crash on Westpark Tollway, Texas

Three people are dead following a fatal wrong-way car crash on Friday morning on the Westpark Tollway westbound at FM 1464, Texas.

The drivers of two separate vehicles were pronounced dead at the scene.

A 2-year-old was flown to the hospital by LifeFlight and later succumbed to his injuries.

The crash took place just before 1:15 a.m.

According to investigators, one car caught fire, and the flames spread to another car.

A white Audi SUV driving westbound was hit head-on by a Hyundai sedan traveling the wrong way on the tollway. The Hyundai was heading eastbound in the westbound lanes.

By the time firefighters attended the scene, one of the cars was engulfed in flames.

A 31-year-old male driving the Hyundai and his 2-year-old passenger died.

A female driving the Audi was also killed.

The Westpark Tollway westbound at FM 1464 was closed as the investigation into the accident is ongoing.
