Two dead after car crash on Highway 89A, Arizona

Two died after a two-vehicle crash on Highway 89A and Granite Dells Parkway in Arizona on Friday morning. Two children were flown to the hospital.

According to Prescott Police Department, at just after 7:30 a.m. they responded to a call of the crash.

They found two severely damaged vehicles and the drivers of both vehicles appeared to have life-threatening injuries. One of the vehicles was a blue 2019 Toyota Tundra pickup truck and inside the back seat were two juveniles, ages 2 and 4, who were injured as well.

At that time, a 2016 Dodge 5500 pulling a trailer full of masonry block, was heading east on Highway 89A in the second lane. The driver of the Toyota couldn’t correct his direction and struck the Dodge truck at high speed.

Both drivers were pronounced dead at the scene.

Both of the children were flown to Phoenix-area hospitals. They are in stable condition.

The incident is under investigation and it is yet to be known what caused the crash.
