Three killed after car crash in Runnels County

Three people died in a head-on car crash Thursday on U.S. Highway 67 in Runnels County.

An eastbound 2023 four-door car trying to pass a vehicle on a highway curve hit a westbound 2022 pickup truck at about 10:15 a.m.

24-year-old Benjamin Nathaniel Sapp, of Crowley, and passenger Jacob Alexander Gray, 25, of Lewisville, were pronounced dead at the scene.

The second car passenger Lindsey Gale Perry-Gray, 22, of Lewisville was going through the stable condition in Shannon Medical Center in San Angelo, DPS said.

Pickup driver H.O. Akin III, 51, of Comanche, was released after treatment. His passenger identified as Sarah Evelyn Brown, 48, of Brownwood was pronounced dead at the scene.

All individuals used seatbelts.

Texas Department of Public Safety investigated the crash.
