Toyota Prius C Photos Leaked

by Allen

What you are seeing in the photo is a leaked image of the new Prius C that came out on the Internet recently. The photo was apparently taken from a Japanese brochure. From this photo, you can see that the new Prius C has been toned down from the concept that was presented at the Detroit Motor Show last January. The new version, which has stepped headlights and clear tail-lamps, looks more like the bigger Prius. Other components of the Prius C that appears to have been borrowed from the popular Toyota hybrid car are the steering wheel and the centrally mounted digital display.

More information can be derived from the brochure such as the car’s engine, a 1.4 liter four cylinder engine with an electric motor that is capable of an output of 99bhp. Being a front-wheel drive car, the Prius C uses a CVT gearbox to the front wheels of the car.

When it comes to gas mileage, the Prius C is capable of delivering 100mpg on the Japanese test cycle according to its maker, Toyota, But under European standard, the car will most likely fall to around 80mpg. The car is also expected to deliver around 80g/km of C02 commission.

Toyota has previously announced that the the new Prius C will not be released in Europe. The Japanese company later changed its mind and has decided to offer the car to the U.K. And the rest of the European market.

The release of the new Prius C is part of the expansion of the Prius family. Apart from the Prius C, a seven seater hybrid car in the shape of the Yaris will be available by next year.

You can expect more details of the Prius C to come out when it debuts at the Tokyo Motor Show in December.
