Photos of New Honda CR-V Released

For the first time, photos of the new Honda CR-V has come out on the Japanese company’s website. The new photos confirm that the design of the new Honda CR-V is faithful to the concept that was presented earlier this year.

Last summer, Honda released the first official photo of the new Honda CR-V SUV. It was due to be launched at the Los Angeles motor show later this month. The new photos though of the new CR-V that appeared last weekend came out without any explanation.

The new CR-V is based on a platform that is totally different from the ones used in previous versions of the SUV. The most obvious modification can be seen in the front of the vehicle. The new CR-V features a wraparound lower front bumper that integrates better into the rest of the front fascia than on the current model. The three-bar horizontal front grille in the new CR-V is also much more dominant than in the current car mainly due to smaller headlights. These changes are implemented to improve the aerodynamics of the new CR-V.

The side of the new CR-V feature sculpted bodywork and more pronounced side sills. Instead of the large alloy wheels featured in the concept, more practical variants are used for the actual wheels. The vertical lights design in the rear of the current model is retained.

Improvements on the interior of the CR-V have also been done. The new CR-V is reportedly more spacious than the current model because of having a lower floor. This also improves the load carrying ability of the new SUV.

Little is still known about the engine of the new CR-V. Honda though promised of improved efficiency and fuel economy. The current CR-V is available in 2.0 liter petrol and 2.2 liter diesel variants that have an output of 148bhp.
