Two killed after car crash in Pottawatomie County, Kansas

Two people died after a car crash on Wednesday morning in Pottawatomie County, Kansas.

Emergency crews were notified after 8:00 am about a crash near Highway 3 and Valleyview Road.

When the officials attended the scene, they immediately worked to shut traffic in both directions.

A 1997 Ford F-150 pickup truck, driven by 44-year-old male identified as Jason Prine, was heading eastbound on Highway 3 when the truck crossed the center line.

The truck struck a 2016 Chevrolet Express van on the driver’s side before Prine swerved back into his lane, then overcorrected and struck a 2019 Buick Envision, which was driven by 80-year-old Betty Bell.

Prime and Bell were pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the Chevrolet was not injured.

It is yet to be known that what caused the crash.
