Two people from Durham were killed after their car crossed into the opposite lane of travel on Route 23 in the Town of Windham on early Sunday and crashed with a pick-up truck.

A 1998 Mercedes Benz, driven by 36-year-old identified as Cameron Marron, was traveling west when he crossed over into the eastbound lane and hit a 2013 Nissan Titan pick-up truck traveling eastbound.

Marron and Nancy Marron, a 63-year-old passenger, were both pronounced dead at the scene.

The driver of the pick-up, Shawn Smith, 34, of the Town of Ashland, was admitted to Albany Medical Center.

The cause of the crash is yet to be known.
