Two LDS missionaries died after car crash in New Mexico

Two full-time missionaries for The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints were killed in a crash crash and a third person was seriously injured on Thursday afternoon in New Mexico.

Victims identified as Elder Michael Austin Davis, age 20, of Corinne, Utah, and Elder Tyson Gene Haycock, age 20, of Miles City, Montana, succumbed to their injuries from the crash.

A third missionary in the vehicle, identified as Elder Britton Jeremie Berrett, age 19, of Roberts, Idaho, was admitted to a hospital in Albuquerque. He sustained serious injuries.

The crash took place at 4:23 p.m. on Indian Service Route 125.

The missionaries were driving a Toyota Tacoma. One missionary was pronounced dead at the scene. Another died in hospital.

The New Mexico State Police was helping in the investigation.
