WardsAuto, a cars industry publication, forecast on Monday that October U.S. car sales will be 6.2 percent lower than they used to be in October 2015.
WardsAuto stated the sales will be 1.357 million automobiles. That suggests a seasonally changed annualized rate of 17.8 million cars, versus 18.05 million vehicles in October last year.
Last week, J.D. Power and LMC Automotive forecast October U.S. sales to drop 7.3 percent, and show a seasonally changed annualized rate of 17.7 million automobiles.
WardsAuto stated that three significant U.S. car manufacturers will have sales decreases deeper than the entire industry. Major car manufacturers report October U.S. auto sales on November 1.
General Motors, WardsAuto stated, will show October U.S. sales of 224,724 automobiles, down 7 percent, followed by Toyota Motor at 195,145, down 4.4 percent; Ford Motor at 187,739, down 9.2 percent; Fiat Chrysler Vehicles at 176,000, down 9.8 percent; Honda Motor at 126,149, down 4.2 percent; Nissan Motor and business stablemates Hyundai Motor and Kia Motors at 103,975, down 5.5 percent.
There are 2 less selling days this October compared to October 2015, making year-ago comparisons challenging to match. Adapted to show sales daily, this October is anticipated to be 1 percent more powerful than last October, WardsAuto noted.
