At least nine people were after multiple vehicles crashed in south Mexico‘s Guerrero state on Wednesday.
The crash took place around 6:35 a.m. on the Acapulco-Zihuatanejo Highway, in Guerrero’s Costa Grande region when the driver of the vehicle wanted to overtake a cargo truck but crashed with its rear. This caused him to lose control and go onto the opposite side of the highway, where he crashed head-on into another car.
Three people were seriously injured in the crash and were hospitalized in Atoyac de Alvarez.
State police and members of the National Guard worked to rescue victims.
The highway was closed for over 1 hour after the crash.
