Rumor: Bugatti 16 C Galibier approved for production

This should not come as a surprise, but according to UK’s Auto Express four door Bugatti 16 C Galibier concept has already been approved for production.

Rumor is that the four door 16 C Galibier will go on sale in late 2012 or in early 2013, and will be priced around £900,000 ($1.4 million).

Power would come from the same 8.0-liter quad-turbo W16 that powers the 1001 horsepower Veyron. Engine will be detuned to around 800 horsepower, which should be enough for a top speed around 220 mph (350 km/h) making it the fastest production sedan in the world.

This engine is developed as a flex-fuel engine meaning it can also run on ethanol.

Sources also suggest that the Veyron’s dual-clutch transmission would be replaced with a more conventional 8-speed automatic transmission.

Body of the 16 C Galibier Concept is constructed of handmade carbon fiber parts colored in dark blue, wings and doors are made of polished aluminum. Interior is very simple and minimalistic, finished with expensive wood and leather. In the center dashboard is a Parmigiani timepiece, which can be taken out and worn.

Just like the Veyron its production run will be very limited(what else can you expect from a $1.4 million supercar) and we will likely see many different special versions before the production ends.
