Volkswagen Polo R WRC Street Revealed

The all new Volkswagen Polo R WRC road car has been unveiled, and unfortunately customers from Australia will not be able avail this all new Volkswagen R WRC road car.

The Volkswagen R WRc is a car that will be produced in limited numbers, 2500. It is apparently the hottest Volkswagen Polo production car in history which will be produced in left-hand-drive, only to make sure that Volkswagen’s regulations for the entry into the 2013 World Rally Championship season

Under the hood of the Volkswagen R WRC, it features a upgraded version of the 155kW/280Nm 2.0-litre turbocharged engine from the Golf GTI, tuned to produce 162kW (at 4500-6300rpm) and 350Nm (at 2500-4400rpm) where there has been boost of about 30kW and 100Nm over the current flagship Polo GTI. The whole units is mated to an six-speed manual transmission, and with that the car can do 0-100km/h in 6.4 seconds before kicking on to a top speed of 243km/h, and in terms of fuel efficiency it consumes 7.4 liters per 100km on the combined cycle and emits an average of 174g/km CO2.

The limited edition three-door production car sports 18-inch alloy wheels, a revised front bumper with larger intakes and a lower front spoiler, white/blue/grey livery with black mirror caps and rear spoiler, and a rear diffuser with twin chrome exhaust outlets. And inside the car, it features a cabin where alcantara-covered steering wheel, racing pedals, black roof liner and WRC-embroidered partial leather seats can be seen.

The price of the Volkswagen Polo R WRC road car starts from 33,900 euros ($41,800).
