Gravity Payments employees bought a Tesla for their CEO as he raised minimum wages to $70,000

Workers at Gravity Payments conserved up for months and on Thursday presented their CEO, Dan Price, with his dream vehicle, a Tesla, as per photos he shared on his public Facebook page.

Cost gained nationwide attention when he raised all of his 120 employees salaries to a minimum of $70,000 a year.

The change was stated to double some employees’ annual wages and slash his own compensation from $1.1 million to $70,000. He was applauded for the move.

But then a report by Bloomberg Business’ Karen Weise recommended that he might have made the uncommon move as a reaction to a pricey lawsuit served to him by his older brother, who is owner of about 30% of Gravity. In the suit, the brother declared that Price paid himself excessively for a number of years.

Last week, Price won that suit, reports Geekwire’s Todd Bishop. Bishop was also the one to identify Price’s Facebook post about the Tesla.

Whatever Price’s motives, numerous Gravity employees were thrilled with their bosses’ choice to grant them such huge raises and revealed their appreciation in a huge way.
