Pratt & Miller has recently released a new promotional video that gives insights of the development and construction of the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R.
Created alongside the Corvette Z06, the C7.R rides on a production-based aluminum frame that is as much as 40 percent stronger than the one used on the C6.R. The car also comes equipped with an extensive aerodynamics package that mimics the road-going model.
The company has not released the performance specifications at this moment but we know that the car uses a naturally-aspirated 5.5-liter V8 engine that has been equipped with direct injection. We can say that this would not sound like a major change but Chevrolet Racing Director Mark Kent has previously said that direct injection typically improves fuel economy by about 3 percent. That could be enough to bypass one fuel stop during a 24-hour race.
Wee we can say that the video looks quite good but details are limited as of now and we can only wait for further details to be revealed of the Chevrolet Corvette C7.R in the coming time.
