Three killed after multi-vehicle crash in Copiah County

Three people were killed after a log truck and car crashed on Highway 28 in Copiah County, Mississippi.

The crash took place near Mercy Seat Road around 3:13 p.m. on Monday when a log truck driven by Robert A. Hunter, 75, of Brookhaven, was driving east on Highway 28 and it crashed with a 2018 Lexus ES350 driven by Akera S. Reese, 34, of Bogue Chitto.

Three victims identified as Robert A. Hunter, Akera S. Reese, and Tiffany C. Coleman, 42, of Brookhaven, a passenger in the Lexus, were pronounced dead at the scene.

It is yet to be known what caused the crash.

Mississippi Highway Patrol is investigating the crash.
