The Porsche Cayman Club Sport story is far from over

by Alex

The most powerful mid engine version of the Cayman series is back with a bang. Porsche unveiled the Cayman R model at the Los Angeles Auto show and we were bowled over. Though we expected the Cayman CS to be back, the Cayman R did not let us down at all. With the engine specifications and power and performance of the car, we still hope the Cayman CS will be back in sometime. Hans Jurgen Wohler has helped us keep our very dream alive with this rendition of the Cayman R.

In an interview given to AutoCar magazine, Hans-Jurgen Wohler has stated that with the new CEO Matthias Muller coming into the party they are looking at great prospects with his new ideas. Although the board always has its say on which car is in line and in which direction.

Stating the reason behind revealing the Cayman R before the much awaited Cayman CS, Wohler said that considering the example of the Boxter Spyder the car can be reached at only specific volumes due to its positioning. But the Cayman R has a prospect of day to day usability and is much better than Spyder in comparison in this department. But the Cayman CS is in the same league as Spyder in terms of positioning.

The final decision on Cayman CS is still pending and is yet to be made. But with the uproars of demand that the car is receiving, we raise our expectations and keep our fingers crossed.
