Report: BMW 6-Series Gran Coupe Will Reach The Production Line

by Sebastian Bivin

It’s already knew that the German car manufacturer BMW has announced its plans to develop the 6-Series Gran Coupe, but now it enters production.

According to Motor Trend via Inautonews, “BMW says it will produce the Gran Coupe concept. “ This new model will share the same wheelbase as the 5-Series but the car will be 3.5 inches shorter and wider and lower than the 5-Series and also than the 6-Series coupe / cabrio models.

The new four-door coupe from BMW will be a strong competitor for the CLS by Mercedes-Benz, being also close to the CLS’s size. The model will also feature frameless door windows, but even so the car will have a B-pillar.

It seems that the BMW Group could have an “M” version in mind for the new 6-Series Gran Coupe, considering the weight reduction by aluminum doors and bonnet, and plastics for the front fenders and boot lid.

The new four-door coupe will be also available with all the engines powering the 6-Series, as well as the XDrive technology.

So far we don’t have the official details, but the new 6-Series Gran Coupe will most likely see the surface during an international motor show sometimes next year.
