Japanese automaker Honda Motor prepares to resume car production at its China venture with Dongfeng Automobile on February 14, according to current government guidance, a company representative informed Reuters on Sunday.

The venture is based in the city of Wuhan located in Hubei province, the epicenter of the outbreak of a new flu-like virus called coronavirus. Hubei’s government has increased the Lunar New Year holiday break to February 13 as it seeks to contain the coronavirus outbreak.

The reopening of the plant is set twelve days after the end of the extended Lunar New Year holiday in China. Chine is currently the world’s top car market.

Beijing has added three days to the week-long holiday, which will now last until February 2 as it seeks to battle the spread of the coronavirus, which has infected thousands and killed more than 300 people.
