Man killed after being hit by car in south DeKalb, Georgia

Police are investigating a fatal pedestrian accident that occurred in south DeKalb, Georgia on Thursday morning.

It occurred at around 6 a.m. on Covington Highway at Young Road, according to officials.

Police said it seemed that the victim, a man in his early 60s, was attempting to cross lanes of Covington Highway, but when he attempted to cross he walked in front of oncoming traffic and was fatally struck by a car.

The driver of that car remained on the scene. The investigation into the incident is still ongoing.
