Here is some new details of the future generation S2000 currently under development at Honda. The Japanese car major had earlier announced its the end of the road for the S2000, though rumors pointed otherwise – that there will be a new car to replace the erstwhile S2000. As per reports currently available, the future generation car from Honda would be a hybrid version mid engined car with power going to the rear wheels. Also known is that car would make its debut in 2014.
That the new S2000 to be would have a hybrid power house has been doing the rounds in the public domain largely due to Honda’s design chief, Nobuki Ebisawa’s reference to the hybrid model during talks on their CR-Z model. He had stated that the CR-Z is only one shape that Honda’s hybrid sports car had as of now. In case it is of a hybrid make then the engine of the future S2000 would surely be a larger petrol driven one with an electric motor also pooled in. it is going to be built on a modified version of the Jazz platform. Given its aluminum construction the new S2000 car is likely to make the 0 to 60 mph dash in around 6 seconds.
