All Volvo cars made in China will be sold only in China – Geely, Volvo’s new owners

by Alex

Most of you would already be aware of the fact that Geely is Volvo’s new owner and they have already let it known that they intend to produce some of the models of the Swedish manufacturer in China. However, more often than not, whenever we come across anything that originates from China we immediately start thinking about its quality. So while it has become quite a common phenomenon to doubt the quality of the products produced in China, we can heave a sigh of relief in case of Volvo as we learn all the vehicles produced in China by Volvo will be exclusively for the Chinese market. We hope this should safely dispel all doubts about the quality of the Volvo branded cars. The announcement to this effect comes from the automaker, Geely’s boss, Mr. Li Shufu who made it known through an official letter confirming that all Volvo vehicles manufactured in China are meant to be marketed exclusively in the Chinese market.

Volvo cars though will continue to remain a Swedish band. Incorporated in Sweden, Volvo shall remain a wholly owned subsidiary of the Geely Holding Group. A further sigh of relief for those worried Volvo fans is that the holding group has agreed and decided to continue with the current production facilities located in Sweden and Belgium.
