VW Group seemed to have been very much attracted and focussed on the 2011 Qatar Motor Show event that was held in between January 26 to 29. The VW XL1 hybrid coupe concept was first unveiled and then was quickly followed by the unveiling of the special edition version of the Gallardo called Bicolore. The VW XL1 hybrid coupe concept for those who are not aware is supposed to be the sportiest brand in the German company’s car flotilla.
The special edition car is marked for the European and Asia-Pacific market in the LP 560-4 variant. The car would have a 560 hp V10 engine and would be an all wheel drive car. The American market would have the car with a 550 HP V10 and rear wheel drive configuration and called the LP 550-2 model.
The specialty of the car is its two tone color finish and a matching interior. Pastel black is the color that has been applied on the exterior that is of the pillars, roof, engine hood and rear spoiler. The lower area of the body comes in options of Giallo Midas, Arancio Borealis, Grigio Telesto, Bianco Monocerus and Blu Caelum shades. There is a perfect contrast therefore between the top and the bottom of the car.
Forged alloy wheels of 15 spoke finished in titanium gray enamel adds some further glamour to the exterior look of the Gallardo. There is also the gloss black finish that has been applied to the air-intakes, front spoiler and upper section of the rear diffuser.
For the interior also the same two tone mix has been applied albeit in a more understated manner. Black leather makes up the instrument panel, seats, door panels and other elements in the passenger compartment. The stitching contrasts the color of the exterior paintwork. The e-gear transmission on the center console on the other hand has been made up in black bezel. Price of the car has not yet been revealed.
