by Ionut Dragomir

Despite the fact that Bugatti managed to take the supercar concept to a whole new level with its Veyron Super Sport, the car that setted the land speed record for a production car, their’s days are close to ending. Why? Well, because the American SSC coming in closely and with a creation from Rotary Supercars which has really big plans.

The company has already moved on to teasing its next great thing, despite that not having built an actual Predator GT yet.

Early we’ve said “really big plans”… “really big” it might not be enough for what they claims. According to the company, this car will be able to hit the 60 mph (100km/h) mark in less than a second, with a top speed of 280 mph (about 450 km/h). Furthermore, the company has announced that one of their upcoming models will feature an eight-rotor engine which will put out 2,800 hp and 3,494 Nm of torque.

Have pretty bold plans, haven’t they? After seing these numbers it comes hardly to imagine how a car like this could react on a race circuit. It would be probably the fasted and most powerful supercar ever created, if it will see the daylight. Moreover, the company had made plans to unveil their first model at Top Marques Monaco 2012.

It’s clear that rotary engines are definitely capable of producing such high horsepower yields. However, modern tyre and component technology is definitely not yet at the stage where such power can be utilised in performance vehicles.

These are all the details at this time, but we’ll keep you updated, so stay tuned for more information.
