In 2003 BMW caused quite a scene when they first launched the 6 Series. After a long wait and much anticipation an updated model has finally arrived in terms of mechanics, technology, and design. As opposed to its bulky predecessor BMW came out with a much slimmer, sleeker, chiseled but larger design.
BMW further increased the length by 2.9 inches, the wheelbase by 3 inches, and 1.5 inches in width. The reduction in height helped reduce the bulky look. When it comes to fuel efficiency BMW created what is called the Brake Energy Regeneration that delivers 23mpg. When the driver hits the breaks the generator converts the braking energy into electricity and stores it into the battery. Not only is this system fuel efficient but it also gives full power to the engine for acceleration. Under the hood, is a 4.4 liter Twin-Turbo V8 engine that delivers 400 horsepower. It comes with ZF-supplied 8 speed transmission and goes 0-60mph in 4.9 second. BMW created the new 8
speed Sport Automatic transmission for speed, flexibility, and efficiency.
