BMW Z4 sDrive20i – Photos and Info

by Site Default

The BMW Z4 is a low-cost, small-engined sports car. Well, maybe sports car is a bit too much for describing this automobile: while it does return acceptable performance, you can’t exactly rate a 2.0-liter powered vehicle as a sports car.

As said, the Z4 sDrive20i gets its power from a 2.0-liter turbocharged four cylinder engine that delivers 181 horsepower. This is a classic case of BMW’s attempt of replacing cylinder capacity with high performance superchargers, and they managed to succeed in this vehicle (partially). The time to 60 needed by this automobile is 6.9 seconds, and it hits a top speed of 146 mph. The fuel consumption is only 41.5 mpg, pretty good for any car.

Although less powerful than the previous model, this Z4 gets almost the same performance with better fuel economy and less emissions (159 g/km CO2). Then again, the even wiser choice would be to wait for the sDrive28i, which comes at a price that’s only $4,700 higher, and improves the sprint to 60 by 1 second by returning 242 horsepower, while retaining the same fuel economy and CO2 emissions.

If you do opt for the Z4, I don’t think you’d be disappointed, since this is a fine car, but can’t compete with any of the major sports cars out there.
