The Koreans from Hyundai gave us the i30 Wagon at the 2012 Geneva Motor Show. In this article, we will only cover the exterior of this Wagon, the interior, engine and performance are to follow in the next days.
The front fascia looks almost identical to the one of the hatchback. What has been changed is the back of the B-pillar. The roofline has been extended further to the back, hence the word “Wagon”. It also gives the i30 Wagon a friendly, family look that also makes other vehicles from this series the great cars they are. The rear window wraps around the D-pillar to decrease the number of blind spots.
Size has also been modified in comparison with the hatchback: 7.3 inches have been added to the overall length for a total of 176.6 inches. Cargo room has also been increased to 18.6 cubic feet, in comparison with the 13.3 in the hatchback. The rear seats can be folded for a total cargo space of 58 cubic feet.
Overall design looks good, seems to fulfill this car’s purpose (it does present it as a family car, but also as so much more). We’ll update you with more Hyundai i30 Wagon articles soon.
