Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II prices cut by up to $280,000

In the latest scoops, Rolls-Royce Phantom Series II has been officially launched in Australia, with that they have brought a staggering price reductions, by more than a quarter million, the BMW owned company has cut down the regular Phantom from $1,075,000 to $855,000, the Phantom Extended Wheelbase drops by $260,000 to $990,000, and the Coupe now costs $995,000 instead of $1,260,000. The Rolls-Royce Phantom Drophead Coupe will draw $280,000 less, which now happens to be priced at the original launch figure of the entry Phantom – $1,075,000.

It should be noted that, Rolls-Royce sales in Australia have slipped by 21%, while rival company, Bentley has enjoyed 12% growth in the local market.

“The currency trend has continued, therefore after careful consideration Phantom Series II cars will be launched in Australia with revised pricing and base specification, adjusted to reflect this change.

“The Rolls-Royce Phantom was originally priced in 2003 (and) since then the Australian dollar has grown in strength against the US dollar significantly, with a pricing change occurring in 2010,” said Paul Harris, Rolls-Royce Motor Cars’ Asia-Pacific regional director. Harris says interest from Australian customers for the Phantom Series II has been strong since the update was announced at the 2012 Geneva motor show.

The latest mechanical changes for the Rolls-Royce Phantom range is that, the introduction of a new ZF 8-speed automatic gearbox, instead of the of the old six-speeder, which improves the fuel economy and emissions of the direct injection 338kW V12 engine by 10 %. Changes also include, an addition of a new rear differential. Whereas as on the exterior, the machine gets new LED headlamps as standard that can also peer around corners at night, a multi camera system provides views ahead, behind and overhead, there’s a redesigned multimedia controller, and a new satellite navigation system is complemented by a larger, 8.8-inch display.
