Toyota is coming up with provocative and exciting new compact sedan with squat, sloped package and bulging fenders. The company unwrapped Corolla Furia concept at the 2013 Detroit Auto Show with carbon-fiber accents apart from massive 19-inch alloy wheels.

In a released statement Toyota said the compact sedan is more dramatic and expressively designed vehicle. It defined the design of the Corolla Furia concept as “Iconic Dynamism”.

According to general manager and vice president of Toyota group, Bill Fay, the car will surprise a lot of people.

Since 1969 Corolla has sold millions of units. It was last redesigned in 2008. The other competitors in the market of it are Ford Focus, Chevy Cruze, Nissan Sentra and Honda Civic.

In 2012 the company had sold 291,000 Corollas. It became top selling passenger cars and was just behind Honda Civic in the market of compact cars. The sales figure of Civic rose to 318,000.

Edmunds.com analyst Jessica Caldwell said that Corolla Furia is important to Toyota as compact cars are now fitting most of the American consumers and it is gaining popularity even though the gas prices are up and moving further ahead.
