Tesla Model X enthralls Detroit Auto Show

by SpeedLux

Tesla Motors has introduced a slightly updated version of the Model X to the Detroit Auto Show.

Tesla is displaying the production-ready version of its electric SUV, ahead of its 2014 launch.
It will be manufactured in the US and would fetch the same price as the Model S. Major changes include the white paintwork and restyled alloy wheels.

Based on the Model S platform, the Model X has a flat battery pack mounted under the floor pan which helps increase the interior room as the cabin can accommodate seven adults in three rows. The main focus area of the car will be its rear falcon doors providing an easy entry inside.

It will carry either a 60 kWh or an 85 kWh battery, similar to the Model S. Tesla plans to sell around 15,000 units annually and they have already received orders for 500 units to begin with.

We haven’t heard anything about car performance and features but since the car will be launched in 2014 more will be revealed then.

Till then wait and watch and do not forget to enjoy the pictures.
