The German car maker Audi recently launched its latest model Audi A5 DTM for the DTM racing which is going to take place in Russia after three decades at the Red Square in Russia. The race which is slated to take place in August 2013 at Moscow Speedway is one of the most recognized Tourist cars racing series.
The launch was done by none other than Mattias Ekstrom, two-time champion, and Edoardo Mortara, winner of 2012 double race competition. The race car is well equipped with many safeties and securities and built with CFRP monocoque and an integrated fuel tank.
It would have 4.0 liter V8 engine which can generate upto 460 hp and it will be supported by six speed transmission gearbox. Other features of this car include dual suspension in the front and back independent of each other, pushrod system with spring unit, adjustable gas pressure dampeners, to name a few.
Since it is a race car, it has to have a strong and broad wheel base and so the A5 DTM has been fitted with 18 inch forged aluminum wheels covered with tires by Hankook. The braking system is also amazing with hydraulic circuit brake system, ventilated brake discs at both rear and fronts.
