The 2014 BMW 2-Series Coupe and Convertible has been caught on camera undergoing testing in snowy conditions.
Designed and developed to replace the 1-Series Coupe and Convertible, the 2-Series version has an imaginary design which is heavily swayed by the 1-Series hatchback. Similarities not withstanding, the coupe and convertible is likely to have a unique front fascia with slimmer headlights.
Engine is likely to be borrowed from the 1-Series, so there can be a variety of four-cylinder petrol and diesel power plants. There is also an option of M235i version that features a 3.0-liter six-cylinder engine along with 320 HP (235 kW) and 450 Nm (332 lb-ft) of torque. Irrespective of whichever engine is selected, it can joined to a six-speed manual or an eight-speed automatic. Rear-wheel drive is going to be the norm, but all-wheel drive will not be necessary.
The 2-Series Coupe is expected to put on block later this year, followed by the Convertible in early 2014.
We do not have the detailed specifications right now, but once the concept is available for sale this year we can get more information then, stay in touch with speedlux.
