2014 Acura ILX revealed with minor updates

by SpeedLux

The Acura ILX had a terrible show with consumers and so the promised changes by the company were on the way to make a better car. However, they haven’t still made the right moves and changes with the underpowered engine still a part of the car and the price has gone up despite the fact that consumers were not very happy with the earlier price and infact didn’t see the value in it.

The 2014 Acura ILX has eight new standard features to enhance its curb appeal, interior comfort and overall driving enjoyment. Key modifications include leather upholstery, an eight-way power driver’s seat, 17-inch alloy wheels, heated front seats, a rearview camera and an audio system with active noise cancellation technology.

The entry-level 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine generated an output of 150 hp (112 kW) and 190 Nm (140 lb-ft) of torque. This is a little surprising as John Mendel, executive vice president of American Honda, called it “underpowered” last year.

The ILX can also be equipped with a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine that can generate 201 hp (150 kW) and 230 Nm (170 lb-ft) of torque. However, this engine is only available with a six-speed manual transmission.

The 2014 Acura ILX has been priced at $26,900 which is a premium of $1,000 over earlier model and will go on sale from this week itself.
