BMW has now officially unveiled the latest 2014 X5 model.
The model which is instantly recognizable, the redesigned crossover comes with evolutionary styling and it closely mimics the outgoing model. The model comes with features such as a more prominent grille, an aerodynamic front bumper, optional LED adaptive headlights, rear “Aero Blades” and new “Air Curtains” that promise to reduce drag by routing air around the wheel arches.
The interior is pretty familiar but comes fitted with higher quality materials and an improved design. Key features inside include LED ambient lighting, a freestanding iDrive display, gloss black accents and Oxide Silver, Aluminum Hexagon or Poplar Grain wood trim.
The model will be offered with three engine options.
• X5 xDrive50i features a twin-turbo 4.4-liter V8 with 450 HP (330 kW) and 650 Nm (479 lb-ft) of torque. Acceleration from 0-100 kmph in 5.0 seconds and a top speed of 250 kmph (155 mph).
• X5 xDrive30d has a 3.0-liter TwinPower Turbo six-cylinder diesel engine with 258 HP (190 kW) and 560 Nm (413 lb-ft) of torque. Acceleration from 0-100 kmph in 6.9 seconds and a top speed of 230 kmph (143 mph).
• X5 M50d has a tri-turbocharged 3.0-liter six-cylinder diesel engine with output of 381 HP (280 kW) and 740 Nm (546 lb-ft) of torque. Acceleration from 0-100 kmph in 5.3 seconds and a top speed of 250 kmph (155 mph).
The 2014 BMW X5 will be built in Spartanburg, South Carolina and Germany deliveries are scheduled to take place in November this year.
