Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary Edition to be sold as a 2014.5 model

by SpeedLux

The 50th anniversary of the Ford Mustang is just months away and now new details are starting to emerge about this inevitable anniversary edition.

As released by the Mustangs Daily, the first 1,000 models of the next-generation Mustang will be out for the 2014 ½ model year. Each model will supposedly feature a special VIN and build number as well as a rumored 5.0-liter V8 engine that would generate approximately 450 hp (335 kW).

There are no details available as of now on any other changes to the model, but the Ford Mustang 50th Anniversary Edition will most likely feature special badging at the very least.

The 2015 Mustang is expected to be launched a few months after this special edition is out and we can expect it to be offered with a variety of engines that include a 2.3-liter four-cylinder EcoBoost with output capacity of 350 hp (261 kW) and the aforementioned V8 engine.

If the rumors are to be believed, there could also be an entry level V6 engine as well as a range-topping Shelby GT350 which could have significantly more power than 450 hp (335 kW) which is generated by the V8 engine fitted in the special edition version.
