by SpeedLux

Bugatti will be introducing the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse Legend Jean-Pierre Wimille special edition in the coming month during the Monterey Auto Week in California.

It is certainly not an easy task to keep a track of the the endless string of special edition Veyrons and now it’s all the more difficult as Bugatti has prepared another exclusive Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse. Limited to just three units, the Legend Jean-Pierre Wimille special edition honors the driver who won 24 Hours of Le Mans for Bugatti in 1937 co-driving a 57G Tank with Robert Benoist. The same driver also won in 1939 while co-driving a 57C Tank with Pierre Veyron.

The car is part of a six-model “Legend” lineup planned by the company which will pay homage to the company’s most important names. All six of them will be based on the Veyron Grand Sport Vitesse which in “World Record Car Edition” guise is the fastest convertible ever made till now, achieving the top speed of 254.04 mph (408.84 kmph).

The Legend Jean-Pierre Wimille special edition will be showcased on August 16 at The Quail: A Motorsports Gathering after which the same will be displayed at The Pebble Beach Concours d’Elegance before making a public debut in California.
