2014 Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo coming to IAA with 350 HP

by SpeedLux

According to one of the latest reports, Alpina has plans to bring to IAA the diesel D3 Bi-Turbo, following the gasoline B3 shown at Geneva Motor Show back in March.

The report further states that the model will be configured with a six-cylinder, 3.0-liter twin-turbo engine which will produce output of around 350 HP (257 kW) and 700 Nm (516 lb-ft) of torque. This would enable the high performance diesel 3-Series from Alpina to be able to accelerate to 0-62 mph (0-100 kmph) in less than even five seconds.

There are speculations that the tuner will also offer the D3 with a four-cylinder engine sourced and modified from the six-cylinder 325d model for those who prefer lower fuel consumption and are satisfied with less power. Both versions of the D3 will be available with a rear-wheel drive setup, but an optional all-wheel drive arrangement will be offered.

Overall the 2014 Alpina D3 Bi-Turbo has in it for everyone to offer – for those who love speed and power at any cost and also for those who can compromise of the power for fuel efficiency and other economical factors. Further details are expected to be released around the time of the launch of the model.
