Volkswagen has recently released preliminary details and some pictures of the Golf Sportsvan concept.
Described as a compact minivan, the Golf Sportsvan is considered to be a preview of the upcoming Golf Plus. If we talk of dimensions, the concept is 134mm longer than the previous Golf Plus, 83mm longer than the five-door Golf hatchback, the wheelbase has been increased by 48mm compared to the regular Golf VII and it’s also 126mm taller and 8mm wider which now increases the space in the cabin.
Talking about the power specs, the company claims that the concept has been developed to work with an array of six engine, with outputs that range from 85 HP (63 kW) to 150 HP (110 kW). The most frugal version is the 1.6 TDI BlueMotion with an output of 110 HP (81 kW) which enables the model to have a fuel consumption of 3.7 liters / 100 km (63.5 mpg UK or 76.3 mpg US) with CO2 emissions of 95 g/km.
Various safety and assistance systems have also been installed in this concept that include Blind Spot Monitor with Rear Traffic Alert, Adaptive Cruise Control, City Emergency Braking, lane-keeping assistant and emergency braking function, among others.
